TAROT FAQS

1.

How Does The Tarot Work?

While many people believe that Tarot will tell you the future, making predictions are not really what Tarot cards are about.

When it comes to Tarot, fortune-telling is out, and intuition is in, especially if you want to create your ideal future and manifest your goals.

The most powerful way to read the Tarot is to use the cards to access your intuition and your inner wisdom. The imagery in the cards give you instant access to your subconscious mind and your intuition. And from this place of inner power and wisdom, you can discover how to make positive changes now so you can manifest your goals and your dreams in the future.

2.

What Is Tarot, Really?

The Tarot is a deck of 78 cards, each with its own imagery, symbolism and story. The 22 Major Arcana cards represent life's karmic and spiritual lessons, and the 56 Minor Arcana cards reflect the trials and tribulations that we experience on a daily basis.

Some may say that Tarot cards are simply ink on paper. However, what I have discovered from reading the Tarot cards daily for over twenty years is this:

Tarot is the storybook of our life, the mirror to our soul, and the key to our inner wisdom.

Every spiritual lesson we meet in our lives can be found in the seventy-eight Tarot cards. And when we consult the Tarot, we’ll get shown the exact lessons we need to learn and master to live an inspired life. It’s like holding up a mirror to yourself so that you can access your subconscious mind and tap into the wisdom (and answers) that lives in us all.

Tarot is perfect for self-development, making choices, manifesting goals, coaching others, planning a business, meditating—you name it. Simply ask a question, pull a card, and dive into the imagery of the card to give you instant access to your inner wisdom and the answer you need.

3.

Forget The ‘Rules’....

Geez, if I had a dollar every time someone asked me about the ‘rules’ of Tarot, I would be a rich woman!

“Am I allowed to buy my own Tarot cards or does someone have to offer them as a gift?”

“Am I allowed to read with just the Major Arcana cards?”

“Should I let someone else touch my cards?”

Do you know what the number 1 rule of Tarot is? There are no rules! So long as you are ethical in the way you read Tarot, you can safely ignore all those “shoulds” and “musts”!

4.

Find Out What The Tarot Means To You...

One of the most valuable exercises a Tarot beginner can do is ask themselves the question, “How does Tarot work?”

By reflecting on this question and coming up with your own answer, you’ll have a much better sense of what the Tarot means to you and how you can use this tool in the very best way.

Now, the answer is going to differ from reader to reader – and that’s perfectly OK! You may see the Tarot as a predictive tool, a coaching tool, or a fun way to impress your friends.

Once you have your answer, write it out, say it out loud, or post it on your blog. Get clear about what it means to you personally. That’s what matters most.

5.

Use The Tarot Mindfully...

One of the biggest mistakes that Tarot beginners make when reading Tarot for themselves is that they ask the same question over and over, hoping to get a better answer each time. Or they do a reading when they’re highly emotional or shut down to receiving truthful insight.

Instead, use the Tarot mindfully. Draw on the cards when you have an open mind and an open heart. Treat the cards (and yourself) with respect and give yourself enough time and space to truly accept the wisdom they have to offer you.

6.

message to beginners...

If you're a Tarot beginner or even someone who just wants to improve your ability to read Tarot with confidence, it can seem very overwhelming to try and memorise all of the meanings of each card so you get your readings right. The good news is that you don't actually have to have all of the card meanings memorised to give quality, accurate readings to yourself and others!

Tarot is all about tapping into your intuition- and trusting what comes up. One of my favourite ways to practice this is an exercise called the Daily Tarot Card, where you do just what it sounds like: pull one card every day for yourself and see what kind of guidance you get from it.

7.

Start Your Day Differently...

Instead of reaching for your phone first thing in the morning, start your day off right by tuning into your intuition with your Tarot cards.  The act of having a ritual sets your day up for success, while the Tarot card makes you more intuitive by working as a tool to nudge your mind in the right direction.

It gives you a starting point- a message- that you can take in whatever way you are feeling called to. Listen to the first thought that pops into your head when you think about the Tarot card you pull – it's likely your intuition guiding you to the message that is exactly what you need to hear at that moment.
